Anna Orias,  President of Board and CEO of Musically Minded, Inc.
Experience: Music Teacher – Maintained a private studio of 10-30 students for the last 21 years. – Developed and directed a Pre-K Music program for 5 years.
Administrator – Founded 2 non-profits and Emeryville Performing Arts Center – 17 years experience directing arts organizations including Musically Minded, a concert presenting organization, and a dance studio.

Education: – Bachelor of Music in performance and composition from UC Santa Cruz – Graduate  level study of psychology with emphasis on neurology and early childhood education

Business Skills: – 18 years experience in event management, graphic arts, and website development. – 21 years experience in marketing. Helped to manage a multi-million dollar book of business in a large SF corporation.

Work Experience: – Currently self-employed. Worked at Oracle as an account executive. Formerly at Wells Fargo for over 10 years, duties included Wells-Wachovia merger integration,  systems analysis, QA, application development, process mapping, financial modeling and  project management. Was on founding team and leadership positions at several high tech start-ups. Also held sales, marketing, project and product management positions at DEC, Oracle and SUN.

Work Experience: – Secondary schools English and Drama Teacher for 28 years during which he served as chair  of Berkeley High Performing Arts Department for 10 years. – Directed over fifty dramatic and musical productions for secondary school students – Current Resident Theater Director, Town and Gown Club, Berkeley, CA – Dean of Humanities, Berkeley High School – Instructional Vice Principal, Berkeley High School – Vice Principal, Berkeley Adult School – Principal, Longfellow Arts and Technology Middle School, Berkeley – Director, Independent Study program for Berkeley Unified School District.

Current Positions: – Director, Algebra Initiative – Oakland Unified School District – Lead programs and coach district leaders and secondary principals on strategies for improving teaching and learning of algebra. – Board of Trustees, Bay Area Coalition for Equitable Schools.

Past Positions: – Strategic and financial planning and business development with Wells Fargo Bank and Transamerica Corporation. – Founding Director, P.O.V., national public television series organization. – Founding Developer, Women’s initiative for Self Employment, W.I.S.E. – President, Board of Directors, of the former Film Arts Foundation.

Gitanjali ShuklaGitanjali Shukla Board Member

Education: Masters in Statistics from California State University East Bay; Post Graduate in Business Management (MBA) with specialization in Finance and HR and a certification in Services Marketing from Vignana Jyothi Institute of Management, Hyderabad, India. Bachelor of Commerce with a special focus on Accountancy from University of Calcutta.

Work Experience: Starting off her career in financial services sector, she worked with one of the giants in mortgage servicing industry, Berkadia, a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway where she spent most of her time on analytical reporting and advising workable solutions. Thereafter she assumed chair positions and took up leadership roles such as Director-Fund Development at Sustainable Silicon Valley, Program Director at Lauren’s House 4 Positive Change, and Accounting Chair at Relay For Life Events of American Cancer Society. Besides these, she is also currently associated with Statistics Without Borders- an outreach arm of American Statistical Association and Stat-Help where she has stayed involved in offering statistical consulting and advice to various Non Profit Organizations.

Skills: An understanding of Statistical and Data Analysis, Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Fund Development, Program & Project Planning & Management. Above all, the ability to see the connection between different areas of business and to suggest appropriate strategies to handle the same.
