Angie Spinelli

General, Classical and Jazz Piano Instructor

**Angie Spinelli’s teaching schedule is currently full and she is not accepting any new students at this time.

Angie teaches piano at Musically Minded Academy specializing in General, Classical and Jazz Piano instruction. In addition to her years of experience as a teacher, she is an active performer in the Bay Area, playing with jazz and salsa bands, accompanying singers, working in music theater and performing at weddings and other special events. She began her studies under the tutelage of Dr. Ann Briton at Minnesota State University -Mankato and continued her education at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Following college, Angie continued to expand her knowledge of the instrument through independent study of jazz and improvisation.



Degree: Bachelor of Music from the University of Winsconsin-Madison with honors in Piano Performance.

Additional Studies: Attended Cours International de Musique, a summer chamber music festival in Morges, Switzerland. Studies in jazz improvisation, theory, and performance at Mesa Community College, Arizona. Jazz Piano studies with Latin Jazz pianist Raul Yañez.

Awards: Lucille Kimball Piano Scholarship, UW Madison. Winner, UW Concerto Competition. Two time winner of UW Beethoven Competition.

Other Personal Interests: “I love to cook. Every week I get fresh produce at local farmer’s markets   and plan menus in advance. I also have a passion for nutrition and health issues, biking, and the outdoors.”
