Sarah Cappelli is a General and Classical Piano Instructor at Musically Minded Academy. She has been a professional performing artist, accompanist and teacher for over 20 years. In addition to her work at Musically Minded, Sarah helped start The Cappelli Institute of Music in the Chicago area (with her brother, Jeff), and developed music education programs for at-risk youth through the Head Start Program of Chicago. As a result of her diverse teaching experience and arts therapy studies, Sarah has become a masterful teacher adept at identifying and addressing each student’s individual needs in order to ensure proper growth and progression in an environment that nourishes the whole self.

Degrees: Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from Indiana University. Graduate Degree in Expressive Arts Therapy at The California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco.

Certifications: Kindermusik and Musikgarten.

Awards: Maxwell Scholarship; Indiana University, McDowell Artists Association Scholar, Nineteenth Century Woman’s Club Scholar, Institute of Young Performing Artists Scholar; Northwestern University, Grandquist Piano Competition; 1st place, Illinois Music, Association Piano Competition; multiple 1st place winner, Triton College Talent Search Advanced Piano Competition; 1st place.
